Chihuahua Apparel

If you’re a novice at buying Chihuahua clothes or clothing for your small dog, you may have a hard time discerning what you need to buy him and what you want to get for him. There’s no special trick to it, though.  It’s like picking out apparel for yourself, or for your child in this case.  Protection from the elements is really the only thing your pet is ever going to need in the way of pet apparel.  This includes but is not necessarily limited to sweaters, coats, boots and rain jackets that protect your little puppy from extreme weather.  However, dog clothing isn’t all work and no play because there are shirts and costumes and well as designer coats that will show off a dog’s style and are fun for the owner.     

First of all, you must make sure you have the necessary Chihuahua apparel for all seasons.  This is true for any small breed that is especially vulnerable to the elements. They need to have the proper warm clothing to keep from freezing.  A small dog sweater is a must for any little one and sometimes needs to be worn inside, too. A small dog coat is also great for those doggies in colder climates or regions covered with snow. Many little pampered pets won’t even step outside in bad weather without some sort of cover on their backs. When picking out small dog apparel, remember that you are entitled to have fun. Pay attention to all the beautiful miniature detail, and enjoy expressing yourself and your dog.

Different breeds need different kinds of dog clothes.  The world of canine clothing never has been nor will ever be “one size fits all”.  Small dogs such as Shih-Tzus and Pekingese can really pull off the fancy designs because of their uppity demeanor and appearance. Ravishing ribbons, fashion bandannas and leather collars and leashes work well for dressing up these small dogs. Chihuahuas and Miniature Pinschers can pull off the fancy stuff, too but also look great in the everyday necessities. Chihuahuas are known to shiver because they constantly lose heat, so they may also need warm Chihuahua clothing for around the house.  In that case it needs to be very comfy and look really good against their natural coat. Large dog breeds usually only need clothing under the most extreme circumstances.  Unless it’s extremely cold or raining heavily, there’s no need to cover them, but there are shirts and other styles that can go on them just for fun.  Each breed has its own needs and style.
